I am a registered psychotherapist with an integrative approach. My counselling considers all aspects of health: mind, body, and spirit. I believe in the inherent dignity and strength of the human person. I draw on these to help you move forward, to manage life's challenges and transitions, and to find new balance and purpose.
I have worked at the Canadian Mental Health Association in Cambridge where I specialized in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. I have also worked in the addictions programs at St. Michael's Hospital and Humber River Hospital, in Toronto, where I specialized in concurrent disorders.
You may be struggling with a major psychiatric disorder, or current and past trauma. If you are using alcohol and other substances to cope, I can help you develop new tools to deal with the symptoms. Perhaps you are feeling down, anxious or just not very positive about yourself. Your relationships and work may be impacted by your moods, as well as your quality of life. I can help you to mindfully accept your challenges and make the necessary changes to find joy again.
Perhaps you have experienced a recent loss of someone close to you and you are grieving. Your health may now be different, or perhaps you are dealing with chronic pain that clouds your resolve. Whatever the situation may be, I can help you to see through the gray and embrace the unexpected twists and turns that life can present.
Through my client-centered, mindfulness-based approach, I strive to help you forge your own path to healing.
